Where exactly are we?
Damianos House commands the most magnificent position overlooking Agios Stefanos bay and across the channel to the Albanian coastline. Vibrant Agios Stefanos (often referred to as San Stefanos), a jewel in the north east Corfu crown, is a unique blend of traditional fishing harbour and cosmopolitan villa holiday destination. It's situated about a 50-minute drive from Corfu airport.
Facing directly east, the sun rises over the Albanian mountains bathing the villa, the village and nearby beaches in glorious sunshine all day long. The area is an ideal springboard for exploring this beautiful coastline, either by boat or by car. If you want to head for the hills, you can drive to the summit of Mount Pantokrator or explore the all but deserted Old Peritheia village. Car hire is easily arranged - just talk to us about your needs and we'll point you in the right direction... so to speak!

Eating Out
It has to be said that the Greeks 'live to eat' rather than 'eat to live' and who could blame them when they have such a wonderfully rich and varied Mediterranean cuisine? So many mouth-watering eating experiences are available in the area and all within an easy boat or car ride.
Agios Stefanos itself offers a selection of highly recommended tavernas, some of them so popular that an advance reservation is advisable in high season. Neighbouring bays, north and south, offer equally as enticing an array of restaurant choices, all of which should be explored and savoured.

Damianos Bar
Damianos is best known for his outstanding Lounge, Cafe & Cocktail Bar and what better way to finish off a meal than with a nightcap there. Open all day for coffees, ice creams and much more, Damianos' signature cocktail has to be the DamBar Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri.
Now a local institution spanning four decades, you never know who you might end up rubbing shoulders with. Damianos always welcomes villa guests with a complimentary drink, so make yourselves known to our staff on arrival at the Bar. Yammas!

Boat Hire
There's really no better way to explore the north east coastline than by boat and Agios Stefanos offers no less than four boat hire businesses, with something to suit everyone. To the north is the stunning Erimitis headland, an area of outstanding natural beauty with many coves and inlets for lazing away sunny days on the water. Then there's Avlaki and the bustling harbour town of Kassiopi followed by Imerolia with its well-known fish taverna.
To the south, explore Kerasia, Kouloura, Kalami (where the Durrells infamously stayed), Yialiskari, Agni, Kaminaki and Glyfa - each with their own individual allure.

Boat Taxi
If hiring your own boat takes you too much out of your comfort zone, don't worry, you needn't miss out on an ocean adventure! A couple of reliable taxi boats operate in the area, which can be privately chartered for a day trip - for example, to the Diapontia Islands off north Corfu or to Paxos and Antipaxos - or else booked to pop you over and back to your favourite taverna in one of the neighbouring bays.

Very popular is a day trip into town where you have several hours to meander the narrow streets of Corfu Old Town at your leisure and trawl the multitude of colourful tourist shops for unique holiday finds.

Corfu Old Town
A designated UNESCO World Heritage site (2007) dating from the 15th century, the architecture of Corfu Old Town "constitutes an architectural example of outstanding universal value in both its authenticity and its integrity." Corfu was under Venetian rule for four centuries, then passed to French, British and finally Greek governments.
It's definitely worth a visit and especially romantic on a summer evening: the Liston promenade with its impressive arcade and cricket field, the Campiello (a rabbit warren of medieval streets and the heart of the Old Town), the impressive Old and New Forts (strategically fortified by the Venetians to keep the Ottoman Turks at bay), the Spianada park, the museums, palaces and myriad ornate churches - all part of the wonderful, rich cultural heritage of the island.

Relax and Unwind
While some of us like to be intrepid explorers whilst on holiday, others are in search of a complete wind down and battery recharge. If that's you, then there are many more treats you can enjoy from the comfort of Damianos House.

Why not allow yourself to be pampered by an experienced massage therapist and reiki practitioner, or treat yourself to hair and nails by our local team of beauty therapists - all within the comfort of the villa.

With various options for dining at Damianos House, and that awe-inspiring view, you could indulge in a private chef for the evening who will cater to your every whim and even do the clearing up! Another nice alternative is having some meals prepped and delivered to your door by an experienced local cook. Whatever your heart desires, we can help you make it happen.
